The Human Ecology Project – USA is a 501(c)(3) means a non-profit organization that has been recognized by the IRS as being tax-exempt by virtue of its work in developing charitable educational programs.

The HEP-USA will distribute free video and written educational content to other public or private organizations for the use of their members. It will also assist in the formation of study groups with an interest in plant-based diets and/or the environmental effects from food choices.

The intention is to enable individuals or organizations to set up study groups, in the USA, and to provide them with the necessary materials to pursue studies and research in this area.

It will work together with its sister organization, the Human Ecology Project in the United Kingdom.

Dr. Alexandria Christ, President

A doctor of Oriental Medicine, Dr. Christ has been trained in both the US and UK and is an acupuncture specialist. Alex has an integrative East meets West approach in her treatment protocols and is also a plant based certified coach and chef. Dr. Christ will be an important part of our work in America.

Professor Gary L. Francione

Gary Lawrence Francione is an American legal scholar. He is Board of Governors Distinguished Professor of Law and Nicholas deB. Katzenbach Scholar of Law & Philosophy at Rutgers School of Law–Newark and Visiting Professor in Philosophy at the University of Lincoln in England, where he will be teaching in 2021. Author of eight books with his latest publication Why Veganism Matters; The Moral Value of Animals, available December 2020.

Professor Anna Charlton

Anna Charlton is Adjunct Professor of Law at Rutgers University School of Law. She practiced in New York before joining the faculty at Rutgers, where she served as Co-Director (with Gary L. Francione) of the Rutgers Animal Rights Law Clinic/Center from 1990-2000. Anna has co-authored many books with Gary L. Francione.

Masumi Goldberg

Masumi is a wellness advocate and author of two books that focus on using discipline and habits to live well. As a former Wall Street analyst and MIT graduate, she believes strongly in science and evidence-based decision making. It is this evidence (along with the inspired example that Bill, and Marlene set with their lifestyle and their courses) that moved her to adopt a fully plant-based diet.

William Tara

William Tara has been a natural health care advocate and activist for dietary reform for over 55 years. As a teacher and author he has been instrumental in establishing education centres in both Europe and the United States. He has been invited to 26 countries to offer seminars in macrobiotic nutrition, personal development, and human ecology.

Dharshini Joseph

Dharshini, a graduate of Harvard's Graduate School of Design, is a professional landscape architect. Her firm, Dharshini Joseph Landscape Architecture, Inc., is located in Falmouth, MA. Her practice offers landscape architectural design and master planning services. Dharshini also has a B.A. in anthropology and is a graduate and passionate teacher of our work. A long time vegan, Dharshini shares so enthusiastically our mission for a healthy world for humans and nonhumans alike.
